After plenty replays i can say that Hunted and Haze are the best tracks on the record for me. These 2 are the only ones on which the instrumental and vocal finally blend together.

A Part of Me sounds, atleast from the preview, like a thrash song. Not my cup of tea. Besides Penance, Vilify, Haze, and a few of the verses, this album disappoints me.

yea the whole copyright laws thing been looking around for it no one has put it up on the torrent sites yet not even the forums anywhere i remember asylum went up on the german itunes to 4 maybe 5 hours before it was leaked by us

Anything on "Recover"?

Yes. We are lucky to be able to hear the music before it is officially released but support your rockers and buy the album. They are working people like you and me. Without album sales, they lose money. If they lose money they lose motivation and inspiration. Purchase the music!

By the way - "Recover" should have been on the album. It's too good to be a b-side.

"Wish" is one of the most dreadful songs I've yet heard... It's legitimately not good. It's not that it's too different - it's just that nothing stands out, it doesn't have a big "boom" to it (feels flat). Lyrics are not stellar. Vocal effects ruin delivery. No feeling of spectacle from this track at all...

"A Part of Me" is... much much better than "Wish", but still not that good. I can see why these were sold as bonus tracks.

"Recover" is pretty good. It reminds me of "Through It All", only less affecting. I don't really have any other thoughts on it.

These three tracks still follow the same pattern of Draiman appeasing his comfort zone while the instruments continue to be consistently less interesting than Disturbed. I'm sad to say that I feel like Device is mostly a one-trick pony, but further, it's evidence that David himself is a one trick pony. I so want to love this album, but I've had it for weeks and it's only garnered 2 listens. I just don't find it that interesting or different! Come on guys, give me something more distinct to work with here! It's not bad by any stretch (except for "Wish"), but it feels like a weakened, electrically-tinged Disturbed with a stagnating frontman. I hope this band's next venture sees them truly breaking new ground. I know they can do it. They give us glimpses here, but fail to expand.

I didn't know that "Wish" was a NIN cover. I hope NIN did it better...

IMO Wish is a pretty faithful cover without screwing it up.... very much played it safe on such an old song

Just listened to it. The song simply isn't my cup of tea, so no wonder I didn't enjoy Device's. I actually think Device did it a bit better.

Device Is Good Live but, you can tell that their is something missing in the live performance!!! i love david as much as you guys but, he needs disturbed the drummer and the guitarist in DEVICE are not even in the same galaxy as Disturbed when it comes to live shows.
