I figure instead of posting constant updates on different threads on Device, we can keep each other updated on this single thread.

So far, Device has finished guitars for a song called "The First 5" and "you think you know". Vocals have begun for "the first 5". David keeps updates twitter and Facebook.

Dying to hear something from this, just a snippet or a demo.

Sounds like recording is moving at a fast pace. David said he wants the project to be released before the new year.

Read earlier on twitter that they've started mixing the First Five. You Think You Know sounds awesome... Judging from what David said over the @DEVICETHEBAND account earlier.

12 or so songs are written, rest of song titles to be released soon. They are doing the recording in pieces.

I think by "The First 5", he isn't talking about a song, but rather the five songs he lists under that.

What I'm interested in is, device doesn't have a bass player nor a drummer but they are already recording songs. Does industrial metal need these elements?

He said that he'd get samples to us as soon as possible. He might not want to give us samples of the ones that are already recorded... that or he wants to consult with Geno before releasing anything... just sayin...

Im waiting for a DEVICE website and an album trailer like Disturbed did with Indestructible. Have a sample of each song, but that'll be further down the line. David said he wants a release before the new year. We've already learned so much about Device through twitter, what more info could be on the that metal show interview? Autobio information? Pregnancy announcement?

We have to wait until August for That Metal Show... but I doubt that it's a pregnancy announcement. A couple days ago she was hiking Runyon canyon. I don't think she's preggers yet.

Mixed feelings about this album.
Hopefully the electronics won't ruin the entire album.

I like a few electronics here and there as done mainly in the sickness, but it should stay far away from dubstep and alike.

Untill i hear a sample i'll take David's word for it that it sounds great.

David's already stated that its nothing like dubstep. If you want an idea on what the album's electronics will be listen to Nine Inch Nails or Ministry.

Glad to hear that. I'm familiar with NIN just not that much with ministry. Time to give them a shot.

Hopefully, considering this isn't the raw metal he usually sings, we'll get to hear some more darkness-ish vocals.
