Mistress
Warrior
I have never written poetry before but I write competitively on a website and they had this poetry contest where the theme was horror. So my mentor there helped me and I took a stab at it. Tell me what you think.
Dark Prince
Deception your faculty
Pretense more common than not
Tales told of heartbreak unsurpassed
A game for your wicked spirit
Draw innocence to comfort a tortured heart
Savior becomes sacrifice
An anguished heart she must mend
Make full your soul to join with hers
Woeful prince, duped by love
For you her very life she will submit
Knowing not of your intentions
Wounded and docile you appear
She wants for you to love again
To return to you your dignity stolen
Shelter your fragile love from harm
She means her soul to be forever yours
Unaware you haven’t one to give in return
Her screams fill our ears
Lies awash with blood as you cradle her lifeless form
Disquiet grows within your dark essence
The decay of your core increasingly apparent
How precious a gift given to you
No more had she to give than her life
A heart that beat for you only
Torn from her chest by your hand
Behold your trophy impious prince
Worthless now is her love for you
Unable to heal your damaged heart
No better are you now
Nor ever will you be
