Sonata Nocturna are a Doom/Gothic/Power Metal band from Granada, Spain. It's members include Javier Tienda and Rafael Mejías of Solid Amber. They formed in 2001.
The band released a long awaited demo in 2003 on the Rage of Achilles label and a full length album was scheduled for 2004, but the band decided to split in 2003 in order to pursue other projects.
The style of the music can be compared to that of Therion, Nightwish and Paradise Lost
