Could you imagine a metal world without Disturbed for the next 10 years? Neither can I, but we may have to. David will more than likely be on tour with Device in 2013-2014. After that he may have a kid, who needs to be raised for a few years. David is the kind of guy who cannot be on tour and raise a child at the same time. John may get involved with AMOB again in the coming new tear for a sophomore album. Dan will probably be busy working with Art of Dying and Intoxication Records. Mike is laying low with his family. Guys, if David us away with Device and family until say 2015-2017, then a whole new writing process IF Disturbed comes back. The boys ain't gettin any younger either. The writing process will slow down. It could be 2020-2023 until we hear a new sound from them. Even then the band might not like the new album because of their absense from each other and scrub the whole thing. Soundgarden was away for 12 years until their new album. It's time to come back to reality. Disturbed may be dead.

WHAT?!!! I for one will will not agree with this statement! Disturbed is not DEAD! yes on hitaus, but i know for sure the boys will be back way before 2020,
Like anybody has seen that things will work out after the many things david & The guys have checked off their list, last i heard dan is spending time with his kids & family, not Art Of Dying, just a co-producer. i ask him a while ago,
he "might" shed light on Disturbed's future, but he will say i dunno or we may take a longer break, but Dan knows that the band will get back together, either six months or six years, who knows, Mikey is cool to lay low, he needs it. John moyer is the best of what he does. David's future is in order. I tell you friend! that Disturbed is never going to break-up or let alone die!! Disturbed will never die!! because Disturbed has a loyal fan base like us, without it then Disturbed could die! but were here, I am a loyal fan, if you think Disturbed is dead-then fine by me! Trust me when the day that Disturbed announces their return, you just made a fool out of yourself for post this friend! Just saying!!!

1st of all, you do not need to resort to name calling. I am no "fool". Do you really believe AOD is gonna continue touring for their debut album for the next few years? I believe they will really want to give new music to their new fan base. No, Disturbed as a band will not die. They will return. Look at Metallica. They are still playing, but they are dead. James's voice has gone to hell. With all the surgery David has had to his throat it's a huge REALISTIC possibility that he could have to call it quits when he's older. Do I hope I'm wrong? 100%. Disturbed is my favorite band and I cannot wait for Device.

Ok, I'm gonna put in my two cents here. First, no one knows what the future holds. ShockAndAwe COULD be right that we may not see Disturbed again. We knew this when they said INDEFINITE HIATUS... Indefinite means for an undetermined amount of time. We MAY never see Disturbed again.

Now, we don't know that David CAN'T raise a child and travel. It is entirely possible that he can we're making assumptions. David seems like he's a very adaptable person. I mean, Lena has her own career- doing acting and modeling. He seems like he's adapting to what she does and working his music around that schedule rather well. I actually think that Lena is in the middle of shooting a movie or just got done.

AOD IS writing for a new record as we speak, as a matter of fact. I've seen this confirmed with Greg and Jonny over Twitter. It's confirmed. They're writing a new record. I think they're working with Dan a LOT as a matter of fact.

John is doing A LOT more than just AMob. He's working with other bands, he's got Natural Ear. He's done a SOAK reunion. John has a LOT going on.

And Mikey- other than chillin with the wife and kid(s), who knows what he's doing and can we really blame him for keeping what he's doing so close to the vest? He could be working with other people or he could just be chilling out. We don't know and we don't need to know unless he wants to.

Again, this is MY opinion and my take on the hiatus situation. No name calling, no being mean to anyone. Just laying it out respectfully. Why don't we just give Device a chance and see what AOD has in store for us? It may be worth our while.

Thats a good perspective D1FE. I honestly love AOD's work and I am so pumped for Device. 2013 is going to be a kickass year in music.

Yeah can't wait either to see Device, but there is still hope for us Disturbed Fans to see them again, Yes David & The guys don't know it yet, sure they will be busy doing others things & David having a child will awesome! but Raven said awhile ago on this topic saying they will be back & including Dan Donegan, like i said in my last post, Disturbed will not die because of us fans, without us fans they would have died 12 years ago. despite that you guys might be right after all if david's vocals are getting worse then that will be a problem, but i believe Disturbed will be back before 2020, five or eight years from now we will see them, sorry for calling you a fool. I heard Slipknot is getting to write new songs & demoing them for maybe a new slipknot record, Disturbed will do they same in time, but for now we all have to wait & see, thanks!

I think they love performing too much to take long break once david gets going with Device you will see how much he misses he band mates. You can mark this down disturbed will be back by the end of the next year or little after that. Thats a long enough time to get back. Trust me next year you are going to hear rumblings of Disturbed coming back. I can Almost Guaranteeing that they back sooner than later.

Alex, much as I love you brother, I'm going to just wait until i see it confirmed by John, Dan, or David on twitter that YES, they are writing again and getting ready to head back to the studio for DISTURBED. That's the only time I'm going to listen to ANY KIND of guarantee on when Disturbed is going back into the studio.

Hi all, I don't know anything about when they're coming back but I can tell you it won't be very, very long. As a musician myself, I cannot stand to be away from it more than a week. I know it's already been awhile now, but they've been constantly at work for the last 14-15 years. They are owed a well deserved break. I do know that once you get that feeling of power (because they were on top of the world)you don't ever want it to go away.

I think they were missing their families and lives and wanted to take some time to stop and smell the roses. Also, just my opinion here- I really think they wanted to end on a high note because they don't want to be forced to put out another record that isn't up to par with all the other Disturbed records. When you get tired and burnt out, you set yourself up to fail. They were not about to let that happen and will be back when they feel refreshed.

I just think they need to feel like they have that hunger for world domination again to keep going above and beyond what they've already done. That's a high order to follow. So, when the next Disturbed album finally makes its way into the works, I am convinced it will be the ass kicking, jaw-dropping, face melting, skull crushing, brain scrabbling twizted sick sonic assault we've come to expect from the guys. No doubt in my mind whatsoever! Disturbed will come back. Stronger than ever! Once Disturbed, always Disturbed! We all are Disturbed!

From an optimistic standpoint im still holding out for some kind of Disturbed tour before the end of 2013 after Draiman gets Device out of his system...it could happen :D

Though it IS possible- I honestly don't see it. I don't see Disturbed coming back for AT LEAST another few years. Five years into the hiatus at the least. It's only been one and a couple of months. Patience in a virtue, so they say.
