Since the first part of MAAW 5 is coming up here in less than two weeks, I want to know what you thought of the show(s) you went to, what the crowd was like, the vibe in the air... in short, the whole concert experience.

Just like the similar threads I did for UPROAR and the recently concluded Taste of Chaos tours, review your experiences at MAAW 5...

The format will be similar to the other threads, for example:

Name of Venue
Location of Venue
Date of the show
Your review

So my show's info would be:

Illusions Theater
San Antonio, TX
Feb. 9, 2011
Review goes here...

So, if you are lucky enough to be going to one (or more) of the shows on this leg of the tour, let the rest of us live vicariously through you and let us know what your particular show(s) were like.

Unfortunatly Korn headlined this night and I must say, I was not at all impressed with them live. They put on a very boring show!! Luckily enough I was there for Disturbed (who never lets me down) and they rocked the F*CKING place down. The energy from the entire audience was so awesome during their time on stage. Looks like they will be in the Iowa area again during the MAAW5 tour so I will be posting more later on. Hopefully I will get to catch Disturbed headlining instead of Korn again

Hey thanks for the review... so do Korn and Disturbed alternate on who "headlines"?

I noticed that about Korn (boring show) when they were on the Mayhem tour last summer when they stopped in Oklahoma City... I left about halfway through their set. Rob Zombie really should have headlined that tour... he brought the house down.

I'm going mainly for Disturbed and Sevendust. I've never been a big Korn fan.

Contrary to what the Events tab on Disturbed's facebook says, the show lasted from 7-11. There were a lot of empty seats and the floor wasn't even full, even though the box office said it was sold out. They had tons of security, township police, even a K9 unit! Not sure why because I think Disturbed's fans are often sterotyped as being rowdy, when usually it is parents with their kids!

It was the first time I saw In This Moment. They were ok, but like someone said before, too much screaming. The girl tried to get the people in the pit to run in a circle while she sand The Gun Show, but security broke them up. It was disappointing. They were trying to get the crowd involved, but either people didn't like them, or security wouldn't allow it.

This was also the first time I saw Sevendust. They were pretty good. I don't know any of their songs, but they had a lot of fans in the crowd and they were very interactive with the crowd.

Disturbed was next. They were great, as usual. I saw them at Uproar and it seemed like they had a lot more energy at this one. David really interacted with the crowd. Our seats were close so when he would walk out on the platform, he was right there! Dan and John were also very interactive. David even made it a point to yell at a guy in the front row of the pit who was playing video games. David told him it was ok if he wasn't there to see Disturbed, but it was very disrespectful for him to be that close playing video games. Show some respect!!! He told security if they saw him playing again to kick him out. LOL! (Yeah right!) I took pictures and some video clips of the show, but I don't remember the order of the setlist, but I think I remember all the songs: Asylum, The Game, Inside The Fire, The Animal, Prayer, Liberate, Another Way To Die, 10,000 Fists, Stupify, Stricken, Indestructible, Down With The Sickness. I think the band had more energy at MAAW than they did at UPROAR; but then again it was almost 100 degrees at UPROAR and I can't blame them! We wish the set could have been longer at MAAW. I don't know if they play longer when they close the show or not, but we would have liked to hear some more from The Sickness album. We really liked the medley they played at UPROAR. I would have loved to hear Remember or Want. My boyfriend wanted to hear Conflict and Meaning of Life.

Korn was last. I didn't really pay much attention when they were on. The crowd was definitely more into them than Disturbed. Maybe it's just our demographic. Not sure. I was a little annoyed at people smoking dope during their set. That also made me ready to leave early. The security was so concerned with preventing people from moshing, that they didn't pay attention to the drugs - which is crazy being that Pennsylvania is a smoke-free state. Indoor smoking is not allowed. Anyway, it seemed like Korn played a really long time, and the crowd was rockin'. It was Jonathan Davis' birthday. He barely talked to the crowd though like the other bands. He pretty much just ran through all the songs. There was a long delay before Chutes & Ladders. My boyfriend got impatient and yelled, "David doesn't take that long of a break!" I don't know what he was doing, but maybe it takes him that long to get the bagpipes ready. Not sure. They did a really long medley at the end, which consisted of most of their hits and even had parts of One by Metallica and We Will Rock You.

All in all, MAAW was great. I hope the rest of you have a great time at the shows you are going to!

he was playing videogames near the stage while a band was singing?? who does that??

first of all, i bet some people would've killed to be in front of the stage to see Disturbed, and secondly, that is hugely disrespectful

how rude of that kid to play freakin video games, no matter what band was on stage! Your video games will still be there after the show is over!!! That kid (or his parents) paid good money for tickets just so he could stand in the pit and not watching the show? I don't think so.

I'm driving 7.5 hours to my show in San Antonio, and I'm there to see a concert... not goof off on PS3 or whatever handheld games are played on these days (a gamer I am NOT! LOL)

Got to see one with Disturbed headlining & one with Korn. Liked them both a lot. Sevendust was ok, I'm not really a fan. The first time I saw In This Moment I wasn't too impressed but the second time I really liked them. Lots of stage energy. Mohegan Sun was amazing because most of the bands were walking around before the show, so we met many of them.

I was seated up front at Glens Falls, and agree with previous post, my 7 year old kid was there for her first concert. Great show! Even if it was friggin cold out.

Wow! I'm loving the reviews!

I think Disturbed ends this particular show in San Antonio, so I'm totally excited for it. It's damn cold here in San Antonio at the moment. I don't think a heavy sweatshirt's gonna be enough!

Review tonight after the show if I'm not too tired. When I went to UPROAR last September, it took me three hours to wind down enough to sleep, so we'll see.

Just arrived at the Alamodome to learn that Disturbed will NOT be performing tonight due to "an emergency illness", which I was told was David's voice (again!!).

I'm not staying to see the rest of the bands. I did not drive 8 hours and 600 miles to see Korn do an extended set.

Yes, I'm disappointed that I came all this way on my birthday to find this out, but it's more important that David takes care of his voice.

I'll get a refund and use that money for tix to Mayhem in OKC in August.
