I've been to two disturbed concerts the in the last two years and plan to get in a third this year. I've also seen numerous live videos and i've been thinking about something. I was just thinking if disturbed's live performance is growing old. I don't mean their backgrounds and effects... those are staying fresh and exciting. But what im talking about are the way they play the songs.

-I mean we all know what he does in the second verse of stupify "do you guys wanna say some dirty words!" or something of the sort.
-In fear "when this song kicks in.. i wanna see eveyone get the fuck up"
- In land of confusion he changes "too many people causing too many problems" to "too many pussies"
-Before the game he does the "aye aye aye" with the crowd then the effects intro kicks in

The same routine kind makes their performance feel dull. Any thoughts?

i think "growing old" is a little too strong

i'd see the exact same concert every day if i could and it wouldn't bother me ....but that's just me i guess

I'd have to agree with you there. I've seen two Disturbed concerts (the third one was the San Antonio show last month when they backed out two hours before the doors opened because of David's voice), and I really don't care if David says the same shit over and over. In radio those types of phrases are called crutch phrases...but I really don't care when I'm standing in the pit ready get wild with 500 strangers with whom I have one thing in common, and that's Disturbed. I go for the live experience, the energy of the crowd, the screaming til I'm hoarse, the rush the whole experience has on me personally. That NEVER gets old, IMHO.

And that's my US $.02

Thanks for both of your responses! Yeah i could've worded that better. I don't think they are growing old in any way. I love the ways disturbed interacts with the crowd.. just after 7+ years i felt like throwing out some contructive criticim. My two disturbed concerts were amazing and i love the live presence disturbed has.

I agree with you. We've seen them at Uproar '10 and MAAW '11 and both were similar. It's disappointing because it makes it seem so rehearsed, and knowing David says these things to every crowd makes it seem like the specific venue you're at is not unique. I love the band and love the performances, but agree he needs some new material. Oh well, maybe David's just shy and doesn't know what else to say! LOL!

Disturbed didnt play long enough on MAAW5....Instead of doing theese big tours with a bunch of other bands they need to just do there own shows and play longer...It would also be nice of they did more of of Asylum.

Disturbed should probly take a kesson from Rush and do a 3 hour live show with just nobody but them:D

maybe the reason they don't like playing super long shows is because David's voice can't handle it. just sayin. also i agree the same thing over and over again at the live shows is one of the few things about the band i would tell them to consider changing.
