Not only did the band tread new territory lyrically on Asylum but also musically. Their first instrumental track "Remnants" ignites the album intensely. Donegan divulges, "We've never done a pure instrumental piece before. Our plan was to start the album that way and build anticipation with something fresh. The vibe sets everything up perfectly."

I think that's pretty cool really. I mean, it's totally instrumental. That rocks, seeing as I'm a musician as well and the coolest massage therapist on the planet... (the later is just my opinion. Feel free to disagree if you choose, I really don't care.)

If you continue on into the bio, theres alot about songs, The Animal and The Infection. Personally, The Infection sounds like DWTS 2.0

I think its gonna be more like Stricken or Guarded. Something with a faster tempo and heavier guitar. Although we barely know anything at this point, i do know one thing. its gonna be AMAZING!

From the bio: "The Infection," which will no doubt be a crowd favorite. From its percussive stomp to the wah-pedal solo

I'm not a musician, what does this mean?

percussive stomp probably means that it has a good drum beat (most likely with the kick pedal) and wah-wah is a guitar effect (ex. facade solo)

I have a question why does dan say in the interview that disturbed has never done a instrumental piece before if infact they have because they have a studio verison of loading the weapon and raven found loading the weapon and put it up on the music player. Unless they meant that they haven't done a instrumental piece for a studio album and that disturbed doesn't really consitter loading the weapon an actual instrumental piece since because they never released it ?

I think it's because they never released it

Slipknot did the instrumental thing in their All Hope is Gone album. But I think Remnants is gonna blow everything away and it's gonna kick-ass!

I think that was kinda explained above... Loading the Weapon was never released on an album. So while Weapon is technically their first instrumental piece, Remnants is the first one to be on an album.

I think it would've been better if they didn't split it from Asylum :P

But the two tracks were meant to played as one, as Remnants goes right into Asylum on the CD without a break (something I found out doesn't happen when you rip the tracks from the CD to your computer, there is a half-second break, and sometimes it's noticeable). I'd have preferred that it was all one track on the CD, then splitting them when Asylum became a single. To me, playing Remnants on its own sounds odd because it doesn't technically end... it goes right into Asylum.

^ agreed 100%. I tried just listening to Renmants by itself and when it got the end, it just sounded really odd and hanging. It was really meant to be with Asylum.
