What do consider Disturbed's genre to be? I think it hard rock/heavy metal, but The Sickness had a lot of Nu-Metal elements in it. Dave Draiman said in this video, "a hard rock/heavy metal" show (Disturbed concert), so that's what I think their genre should be.

The Sickness was a Nu-Metal album but I think the rest of their albums would be classified as hard rock. I wouldn't say they're Heavy Metal though, Heavy Metal is more like Lamb of God, Children of Bodom, Chimaira, Meshuggah, etc.

And when David said "hard rock/heavy metal show" I think he meant his band and maybe Lacuna Coil were hard rock, and KSE and Chimaira the heavy metal. Even though KSE is more metalcore. Disturbed is a little too melodic/slow paced to be heavy metal, which isn't a bad thing but just compare them to a band like Lamb of God and you'll notice the difference between the two genres lol.

They are definetly a metal band. A lot of people tell me that they're a hard rock band, but I just don't see it in any of their songs. David Draiman himself said that if they were a band in the 80's they'd be known as a metal band. And the fact is their heavier than a lot of band's from the 80's. And if listening to the music isn't enough, the lyrics and imagery associated with Disturbed are definetly metal themes. Quite frankly, I don't even see how the hard rock debate even started.

The problem I think is that people keep trying to label Disturbed as Hard Rock or Heavy Metal. I see them as just good old Metal, right in between. They have some Nu-Metal elements, but I think KoRn is still the only truly Nu-Metal band.

Disturbed is alternative metal, exept the sickness that had nu metal elements, in my opinion.

Alt-metal. Everything about them points to it.

I have trouble hearing any nu-metal in The Sickness.
