From Device's facebook about an hour ago:

MY APOLOGIES TO THE FANS IN FT MEYERS AND 99X FOR THE MANY ISSUES WE HAD TODAY DURING OUR SET. IT IS WITH DEEP REGRET THAT I MIGHT HAVE TO POSTPONE SOME OF THE ORIGINALLY PLANNED SHOWS FOR THE NEXT WEEK, DUE TO A VOCAL INJURY WHICH HAS GOTTEN WORSE FROM REOCCURRING TECHNICAL/MONITOR PROBLEMS ENDURED DURING THE START OF THIS RUN. THIS IS NOT HOW WE MEANT TO START OFF AND YOU DESERVE BETTER. WE WILL KEEP EVERYONE POSTED WITH MORE DETAILS AS THEY BECOME AVAILABLE. ONCE AGAIN, MY MOST SINCERE APOLOGIES. GIVE ME A MOMENT TO HEAL AND GET OUR HOUSE IN ORDER AND WE WILL BE BACK OUT THERE WITH A VENGEANCE!

MY DEEPEST THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT,

-DAVID

What does he mean by "a vocal injury which has gotten worse from reocurring technical/monitor problems"? How do electronics mess your voice up? Only 4 shows into the tour, and David blows his voice out again. That's lame. I hope it's not too serious.

Most likely his mic or sound system wasn't in balance and you could probably hear the instrumentation more than you could hear David singing and he pushed himself to sing out louder much more than normal, I'm just guessing now.
I've seen this happen with too many Bands.

So far, from looking at Twitter David has just said that he has sore vocal cords from pushing too hard due to severe monitor problems. Should take "a few days" of rest. An official statement is to be released soon.
