I never guess this was happening anything time soon, but i think it would be the best, besides David said on twitter that he agrees with this bill in the U.S. Congress bill!

what are your thoughts on this topic?

the internet is the last free place left on world and it lies in here cyberspace you can say what you want and not have it censored its a typical step for governments their all for it cause they want to control everything so when they do something illegal they can take control and have it removed to cover up their own crimes next step will be the media so of course celebrity's are all for this most of them commit crimes and illegal offenses every day they just don't want to be exposed on twitter "i move to no censorship of the internet what so ever"

Agree, it's just that the U.S. Goverment is really tried of hearing copyright Infringement all over their asses, so qutoe "lawmakers" would make bills and laws like this, pretty soon i bet the U.K. might do the same like us over here!
but i did see real actual reasons why Disturbed is taking a hiatus, besides the alliged demise of Hard Rock/Heavy Metal and even spending time with their families, Disturbed had seen these things building up to this point and thats why David & the guys called a break for the group, i hope things like this either stop or face some big trouble down the line!

Read this from David on his twitter account. He makes it very clear that, in it's current form, he DOES NOT support SOPA and PIPA.

My thoughts are that the bills, are written, are unjust and are a veiled attempt to strip Americans of our First Amendment rights to Freedom of Speech/ Expression. As for our President... I'll keep my opinions on him to myself. I don't want to end up being censored for sharing my REAL opinion of the man- which is what SOPA and PIPA would do.

What legislation are you talking about and under whom, Raven?

I agree that Bush left the country a huge mess. Personally, I believe that he had to make the best out of a bad situation. As for Obama, I think that the only good thing he has going for him is that he was President when we found and killed Osama bin Laden. SEAL Team 6 is known for things like that. I feel that Pres. Obama has made more bad decisions than good in the three years he's been President of the United States. Granted, he had a mess to begin with, but he's only made it worse. There are things that he promised in his campaign that he has yet to deliver on- like jobs for Americans for starters.

I guess our Constitution of the United States and The Bill of rights is not worth the paper it's written on...our poor little First Amendment is being overlooked and we the people don't matter anymore....pisses me off.

Actually...

Congress is hearing us with all of the blackouts and protests against SOPA and PIPA. There have been several Senators and Congressmen that have pulled their support from the bill, and Pres. Obama issued a statement that he wouldn't sign the bills the way they're written.

Above is a Billboard article outlining all of the updates from Congress today.

^This one is an article from Forbes that talks about Obama pulling his support for the bills.

PS.. Reading the Forbes article, I gained a little respect for our Commander in Chief.

I am strongly against this bill. I sadly say I am a participant in downloading music but who can honestly avoid that in this economic state? Avoiding it would mean avoiding access to my favorite art form: music. Just because i cannot afford 1.29 a song..... I own 2419 songs through iTunes and would have had to pay well over $2500 for all of it. Note A huge part of that music is from CD rips that I paid for.

Sorry for wandering off-topic but I believe this bill is our government acting too inhumane and controlling. However, the thought of sites like mediashare or piratebay going down does take the wind out of my sails. Downloading music not mean I don't contribute to the paying society. Ive bought plenty artists' merch and my fav albums. SUCH AS "the lost children"

^my two cents, agree/disagree or indifferent ;)

I agree with you. I own at least 30 hard copy albums. I do use piratebay but I always try to support the artists when I have the money. Its just not always possible. Example: I have had all of jason aldeans cd's from a free download for several months. I was able to afford them last month and bought them from best buy. Yes I downloaded them for free, but a few months later I went and bought them.
