Hard rock band Disturbed is no stranger to San Manuel Amphitheater in Devore.
The venue is even pretty memorable to the road warrior band -- the last time the group played Ozzfest at the complex, the power went out.
"It went out and it was a very, very hot day, one of the hotter Ozzfest ones that I recall," bassist John Moyer said in a recent telephone interview.
Here's hoping the power stays on when the band performs as part of the Mayhem Festival at the site on Saturday with established bands such as Godsmack, Testament and Machine Head as well as up-and-coming younger bands such as Kingdom of Sorrow and Riverside's Suicide Silence.
Moyer said the festival was an opportunity for the band as well as fans.
"It's an easy decision for fans. As opposed to trying to figure out 10 different shows they're going to go to during the summer, they've got one show with all of their favorite bands. For the younger bands, obviously, it's of value to them because they get to play in front of big audiences and they get to win people over," Moyer said.
Disturbed headlines the Mayhem Festival.
The festival also has benefits for Disturbed.
"And for a band like us, it's great teaming forces with a band like Godsmack and Megadeth because we're going to get the opportunity to play for bigger audiences and maybe win over fans who haven't seen us before, or who weren't that familiar with us because they were a Godsmack fan or a Megadeth fan."
"Ultimately it's about the best value for the fans and that's why these tours are successful and that's why we like doing them," Moyer said.
Disturbed has sold upward of 8 million albums in the United States and had hits with songs such as "Down With the Sickness," "Inside the Fire," and "Stricken."
The band has added some new songs from its most recent album, "Asylum," into the set, but it will be performing fan favorites as well for the festival setting.
The band has been touring with the largest stage production in its career.
