Hmm... that's cool. I wonder how David feels about his father running for Mayor of LA.

I was just on the website, and whoever maintains it needs spell check. They even spelled the man's name wrong on his email address, and there are several other typos. It appears like when Mr. Draiman decided to run for mayor and not city council, there were some quick alterations to the site to reflect the change.

And Vikki, I wonder, too how David feels about his dad running for political office.

Well, there's something to put into next week's podcast, but all I can do is speculate. The election's not til 2013 after all.

I'm sensing that he's going to use David's popularity as leverage. But since I don't know him like I know David, I won't sit too much on it. Even though he's David's dad, he's not David. He could be completely different.

He's a very brave and fearless man to take on The city of Los Angeles if he wins...That City is the REAL REAsON why they call it "THE WILD,WILD WEST" and can be a heavy load on the Mayor's Desk! Lol[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Now certainly politicians have been known to do some tasteless and inappropriate things, but pulling something inane like that would probably hurt his image worse than it would help (or at the very least get him laughed at by his peers). He probably wont bring it up. If he does get a few extra votes from people who happen to be fans of the band, then all the better for him.

I hope David stays out of it too; getting even slightly involved in anything political could badly hurt album/ticket sales.

Well....I don't see anything wrong about being supportive with a family member in politics
and so who cares if David goes to Los Angeles and says hey vote for my dad! I've seen
Arnold (The Governator)Schwarzenegger use his celeb status to enter the govenor's
california mansion and look at
Ronald regan...he also was a movie star and used his fame to enter the white house...
look he's only running for Mayor and If I were David I'd be very supportive for my father. The is no harm in that...is there?

That's all perfectly fine. I meant thing like bringing up the campaign during an interview, or telling the crowd at a Los Angeles show to remember to vote for the elder Draiman (I don't think he'd do those things anyway).

I suppose in the end Disturbed's media/marketing-prowess is in the hands of Jeff Battaglia. I was just hoping David could keep any support he may give as personal/private as possible, far away from Disturbed's public image (political nepotism accusations are only a few steps away from political corruption accusations, something Mr. Draiman could do without). Support him as David the man, not David the rockstar is what I'm saying.

Though I think it's plain silly to vote for him just cause he's David's dad :p

I still wonder how David truly feels about the whole thing. I mean, he's known for not being a big fan of politicians and he's so much as said that there's no such thing as an honest one in his opinion. That's why he himself will never run for public office.

I know I'm just speculating, but I honestly don't think that David's too thrilled about his father running for mayor of LA. He may be supportive, but that doesn't mean he likes it.
