I saw an interview with Miss Black about this on Good Morning America, and she actually can sing, but her voice irritates me and the lyrics of the song are stupid. And who the fuck is the guy following the school bus??? That has creeper written all over it!

It's an okay song if you don't know better, but since most of us do know better, it's just irritating as all get out!

This is the future of music!! its a shame ya know? i mean whatever happened to earning it?!! i mean disturbed had to earn it korn, Sevendust, and FFDP they all had to earn by touring and touring and playing at clubs smaller than gas station bathroom. I think those singing talent shows just plain suck cause they rely on just 3 people to tell you if you're good or not. I think that's why those who win them never last long. They didn't earn the respect of their audience, they earned the respect of the judges. They gotta understand that you don't perform for the judges, you perform for your audience.That's why bands like Disturbed, Korn, Sevendust and all the other bands are still going strong. They have people's respect, they showed that they could survive and make a name for themselves. Judges are just a few people. It's millions you gotta impress.

Artists do have to earn their place in the business. Get out there and hustle, play all the crappy venues, get stiffed a couple of times, throw all your money back into the band. Very few American Idol contestants have done really well (Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood the rare exceptions) and those other "competitions"? They're basically ripoff of Idol, IMHO.

Now people are turning to YouTube to get noticed. As I mentioned in a previous post, for every Justin Bieber, there are millions of wannabes. But to put out stuff like this, that has a catchy tune but lyrics that leave much to be desired, is to me saying that the music listening public will accept anything. I've never been a big fan of pop music, but this is garbage. My 12 year old niece can write better lyrics than "Friday", and it would make more sense than "yesterday was Thrusday, today is Friday..." I knew the days of the week when I was four, so who's this song for...four year olds?

And life is more than a party. Even at 13 and 14 years old.

Now, I won't lie, for the longest time I was a HUGE bubblegum fan. I listened to NSYNC and Backstreet because that's what I considered music. And, even THEY didn't sound half as bad as the little girl in that video. They may have screwed with her voice in post, but that doesn't save the shitty lyrics and bullshit concept for the video. "Yesterday was thursday, Now today is Friday"? What retard wrote that shit? Whoever it was, they need a good swift boot up the ass. That was sheer nonsense. The young lady in that video MAY be able to actually carry a tune in a wet paper sack, but listening to that, you can't prove it by me.

what's funny is there are people who actually LIKE this crap passing off as music. Now, either they are tone-deaf or they're just plain stupid. They find it "catchy" but that's just looking at the melody and tune. Or they just find it easier to understand dumbed down lyrics. I find it hard to see it their way because, in my opinion, you like a song because not only is the melody good, but so are the lyrics and vocals. This...this is the lowest form of music I have ever tried to stomach. She will die in this business so early, you mark my words.

Ok, now that I've got that out of my system... I don't see a problem with her recording with Bieber because they're both teeny bopper pop. The crap they sing and write is meant for little kids who don't know any better and whose parents are over bearing and controlling. Hell, even some kids who's parents aren't like that. I hate to admit it, but I have a couple of good friends with a 13- almost 14- year old daughter who probably thinks that song is kick ass... and I'd have to hang that poor little girl outside on the highest tree in the back yard by her toes.

my country has the exact same problem. God, there's this one girl in school who insists in belting out the national anthem. oh yes, she has a very very excellent voice but still, i feel like she's showing off whenever she sings. in my view, she's going like "hey, listen to me, i'm singing the national anthem as a ballad cause i'm so awesome!"

It's terrible annoying, and people who sing it like that I wanna go up and strangle the living daylights out of them.
