NOTE: This review is opinionated and bias. It's my thoughts and you have every right to disagree, but don't comment saying I'm wrong or don't know what I'm talking a bout. Thankss
Personally, Ive been disappointed with every Asylum music video as of now. And they won't grow on me either. I don't really get it? I've liked every video they've made in the past... Stupify, Stricken, Indestructible.
One thing I love about disturbed songs is that they have powerful meanings. I liked how they played their songs in previous albums music videos because they were to-the-point and didn't do too much. Well these video seem like they are trying to do too much. My problems with the Asylum music videos is that they
1) rarely show the band playing and
2) they don't capture the song's true meaning
My thoughts
AWTD: My bais opinion about this song is that Disturbed is using this music video to "be green". Yeah well I don't think they did a good job sorry. I'm not a fan of the song anyway. A video to me wasn't necessary. The time should've been spent on the infection
Asylum: First off, I love this song and its meaning. Unfortunately, that is why I can't stand this video. I saw this video a month after seeing A7x's "Nightmare" video. They are much too similar. Asylum reminds me of the Saw movies. Are they trying to be cool or 'disturbed' with the blood and insane stuff? They don't need it. The song has always been about a memory haunting you, be it a girlfriend or whatever.
The Animal: I just saw this video and was very disappointed. Okay guys there wasn't ONE werewolf in the whole video??? The whole song is about a werewolf who loves his new power. Well? This video has an odd Asian women drawing a cross of blood on a lamb. I get it Disturbed thats crazy shit. But thats not what the song is about? I expected to see a werewolf transforming and howling at the moon, chasing his friends and enemies... trying to control himself. Haha i was wrong.
