With "Another Way To Die" still in the Top Five at rock radio, Disturbed unleashes "The Animal" this week as the second single from the band's latest album, Asylum. Frontman David Draiman told us that "The Animal" is a little different from most of the record's darker material: "'The Animal' was written just from a much more tongue-in-cheek perspective. It's about a werewolf, a man who becomes a beast in the light of the moon and who enjoys it, who likes the power, who relishes it. Obviously not to be taken literally. I'm a big fan of the Underworld series -- that's kind of where it came from."
Disturbed, Stone Sour, Avenged Sevenfold, Hellyeah and others wrap up the inaugural Uproar Festival tour on Monday night (October 4th) in Madison, Wisconsin. Disturbed will start a new run of headlining dates in two weeks.
David Draiman also recently told a California radio station that Disturbed will be doing two legs of its Music As A Weapon tour in 2011 with a "massive" co-headliner, rumored to be Korn.
Disturbed's fifth studio album, Asylum, arrived on August 31st and debuted at Number One on the Billboard album chart, the fourth consecutive release from the group to do so.
Upcoming Disturbed headlining tour dates (subject to change):
October 15 - Detroit, MI - The Fillmore Detroit
October 16 - Cleveland, OH - Agora Theatre
October 18 - St. Louis, MO - The Pageant
October 19 - Indianapolis, IN - Egyptian Room
October 21 - Upper Darby, PA - Tower Theatre
October 22 - Atlantic City, NJ - House Of Blues
October 24 - Boston, MA - House Of Blues/Foxwoods Resort Casino
October 25 - New York, NY - Roseland Ballroom
