I want to hear everyone's opinions on the 5th studio record, Asylum.
Are you dissapointed? Kinda dissapointed? Satisfied? Beyond expectations? Rocked your socks off?

I know I for one have been dying for the release of asylum, and i must say, I was anything BUT dissapointed, the album was great, I loved it, the band has gotten better musically, dan's guitar got better, it's just a overall improvement, I loved it.

I must say though, after the release of the first single, Another Way To Die, I kinda got let down and hoped that the rest would be better, and boy were they better..they were awsome. Lyrically, another way to die is frikkin amazing, but the musical aspect, I was not very much impressed, dont get me wrong its a great song, every disturbed song is great, but there is indeed other songs of disturbed that are better in my opinion.

It rocked my fucking socks off. On a scale from 1 to 10- 1 being horrible and 10 being awsome- I give it a 20!!

This album is just amazing, and my emotions towards it are so beyond any other words with the exception of amazing, phenominal, and/or badass. It's also come at perfect timing in my life, for songs like Crucified and Serpentine have gotten me through various setbacks in my life at the moment and songs like The Animal, Sacrifice and Leave It Alone have awakened something strong in me, and I often quote lines from Another Way To Die and Innocence when talking about certain topics. And other songs like The Infection and My Child must have definately been hard topics for David to get off his chest, but they've made beautiful pieces for others to relate to in their struggles and help overcome.

One minor opinion though: My Child. I love the rhythm, and I love the lyrics, but I think for a touchy subject such as that, I think the melody and vocals could have been a bit softer to give the words a much more deeper meaning. But, nevertheless, it is still a good song.

Overall, Asylum is a total turning point in the step-up in their career and it's mindblowing!!

hmmmm i can definitely see where you guys are coming from about My Child...it woulda no doubt made the lyrics stronger! Maybe something in the field of "Darkness" from believe? Though it is still one of my favourite songs from the record!!

Man I agree with everything you said! It was very very strong lyrically, david went beastly on it, and the intrumentals were able to match up with the dark theme of the album.

I agree it is indeed a step-up, it showed a lotta growth, improvement, maturity...it was just simply one of the best records I'v EVER heard!

I mean I was a HUGE disturbed fan before asylum, and when it came out, I developed an even bigger respect for them, and I listen to them everyday, it get more and more attached to their music, honestly, I'v never been attached to something like I am attached to disturbed, its scary lol.

Asylum is a great album, but I want Disturbed to try new things. They haven't really tried anything new other than adding solos over the past few albums. I want another evolution in sound like from The Sickness to Believe. I like my bands to change over time, not to basically stay the same. I didn't think they really tried that much new other than adding more layers on a few songs, but I really liked the vocals. 8.5 out of 10.

9/10 for me! I loved the album in all honesty, but i think Another Way to Die didn't really fit the overall vibe of the album. Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome song, but I think it didn't really fit in with the other tracks

I loved it, cant stop thinking about it!
In asylum I noticed that david puts a more aggressive vocal ,that might be the only change I heard out of this 5th album.
But I give it a 10/10 for it reached the billboard top 1 again.
(note: Im a hardcore fan and forever will be!)

For me Asylum is an awesome album so i would give it 9/10 also.
The only thing i didn't care for on this new album is "Another Way To Die"
like others have said it's a good song but it doesn't have that Asylum feel to it. Also the cover they did for "ISHFWILF" it's the one song i listen to the least for me it wasn't the best cover i thought they did.
I thought "Shout" is the best they've done.......but yea great album, could have been better in some parts but overall best album is a while.
