Draiman: "Fuzz was a character, and he was not so easy to replace."
Radio Host: "Did you ever go to his MySpace page?"
Draiman: "No. I don't have any desire to."
*Laughs from both*
Draiman: "People have like, sent me links to the information, and it's like I, I don't, I don't even wanna go there with it, you know? I wish, to be honest with you, I wish nothing but love with the guy, and I bear no ill will, and I just, it just got to the point where I simply couldn't work with him anymore. That's really all, you know? And I don't, I don't wish him anything bad." :@:

Fuzz was good but i think Moyer is better Moyer adds more to the band because he sings back up and they dont have to record Davids voice and play it in the back ground when they play live with Fuzz their was never any realy back up

I kinda have to disagree with you there on that one. Yes John is great I'm actually a big fan of his style but unlike Fuzz he just doesn't let himself really stand out. Sometimes it honestly feels like there's 3 members of the band and just John.

I agree, the bass used to really stand out. There was an interview with Dan somewhere & he said he wrote the bass lines for TTF, not John. I'm surprised they chose a pick player to replace Fuzz when their styles don't jive when it comes to playing the older songs live.

well i like john..he seems like an awsome guy and gets along with the band great...i think he just atoumaticly got a bad rap becuse he was replaceing an original member...for a long time hes gonna be the new guy thats a tough gig like david said Fuzz was a character an hard t replace so i doubt theyd replace him with anybody to a lesser standered...Fuzz was great but from what i could tell he seemed like an asshole and to not be able to work with the rest of the band even David says alot cause they are like brothers all of them

I find the opposite... people can't even seem to accept it when original fans say they miss Fuzz. Missing Fuzz is not disrespecting John but people feel the need to defend him as if it is. Neither is stating personal preference for Fuzz's style. A lot of people who prefer Fuzz's style aren't around much to comment because they're not big fans of the new albums. Their difference in playing style & their personalities as band members are 2 entirely different things.

Fuzz gets a bad rap because it's assumed that he must be an asshole because they kicked him out (as you are doing right now). I haven't heard specific examples of what makes him an asshole. Fuzz got along with "the rest of the band", to the point where David had to threaten to end the band if they didn't agree to kick him out. I know from personal experience that Fuzz is a great guy. His former best friend... his "brother" long before David joined them, misses him.

If you prefer the bass in the latter albums, good for you. We're all entitled to our preference. But don't go around calling someone an asshole without facts to back it up.

See, when i first started to love disturbed and everything they stand for, when the whole fuzz story comes up thats the point where you want to call them two-faced and just forget the band ever existed. And i have nothing against moyer, but the whole fuzz deal was just shit on everyone but Fuzz's part. I think it is exactally like Fuzz said it. It turned into a deal of money instead of dan and mike standing up for what is right they backed down, because it was a deal of money and record compinies and a whole big bag of horse shit. Yes it easyier to replace a bassist then it is a vocalist and if david left there would be no disturbed. But still, i wish they would have seddled there differences and got along, but if push came to shove, i would wrather see a brawl with fuzz, mike, dan, and a new singer, then disturbed with mike, dan, david, and a new bassist.

The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that Fuzz called Moyer
a "tool". Moyer may very well be a "tool". I don't know that. But,
Fuzz didn't leave any refference as to why he reffered to him as such either.
So, I'm left to assume that it's simply because he took his position.

Iv heard that Fuzz got kicked out of the band as he either had an affair with Dan's wife or David had an affair with Fuzz's wife, im not sure if it's true but it would explain the who fuzz not acting like a brother anymore like David has stated. :)

The only people who know the truth are Fuzz and the rest of Disturbed. And apparently, none of them are keen on giving out the gory detail (if there are, indeed, gory details).

Personally, it doesn't matter either way to me whether Fuzz was better or John is better. Both have made contributions to Disturbed, and that should be the end of it. John's the bassist, and Fuzz is doing his thing, whatever that may be.

I think John fits in more, Fuzz was good, but John is awesome.

So, I never actually understood why Fuzz and Disturbed seperated after Believe. Some source told me that Fuzz didn't like the darker direction that Disturbed wanted to go in. And another source told me that Fuzz had family issues and couldn't tour anymore. I just want to get this story straight. It's been bugging me for years haha. Although, I do prefer John Moyer over Fuzz anyday. :)

Well, according to what I know, they fired Fuzz because of "personal differences" with David. I dunno what happened, but they wanted him to be out.

Watching Fuzz in the studio tracking for The Sickness and Believe on the MOL DVD, he was a real dick. Probably made it too hard to track in the studio to get along with David.

Hey ShockAndAwe to tell you the honest truth about why fuzz was fired from disturbed was because with david draiman he said that it just go to the point where I couldn't work with him anymore and also I'm not sure if these other rumors we all herd are true but we were hearing that if dan and mike didn't agree with david to fire fuzz from disturbed they were the next one's to go and also from david draiman he has I'll will against fuzz but it just got to the point where he couldn't work with him any more and also david said that fuzz was a character and he isn't easy to replace that's all the info I have for david just won't go any futher into the subject just like the rest off the band.

Ah ok man thanks. Yeah, David, Mikey, Dan, and Fuzz are the original brothers. I would see why they dont wanna go too far into it. They've moved on. But, its good to see that Fuzz is playing for Indestructible (Disturbed's cover tribute band).

I'd been wondering the same thing, actually. It's nice to have light shed on the subject by someone who knows something on the matter. Fuzz got fired because he couldn't work with David. Interesting to know.

Well i found this old interview in 2006 with Mike and he shread some light on the issue

AAM: I didn’t know whether asking a bout Fuzz was a “no-fly” zone for you guys, but what’s going on there?

Wengren: You know, Fuzz and us... we were together for a long time. We were friends and played in different bands way before Disturbed, and we were really sorry to see him go... but, without getting too hairy with anything - it was just like a marriage; no matter how much you love somebody it just doesn’t work out anymore. The years of being on the road together - we just started to grow apart, and there were some personal differences that kind of came to a head, and we just couldn’t work with him anymore, so unfortunately we had to move on.

AAM: Good enough. I see your band staffed as three members on the new album.

Wengren: Well, I know it’s a little unorthodox and people, of course, are concerned and have been questioning our reasoning for doing that. Fuzz was with us for so long... I wanna say I knew Fuzz for a good fifteen years. When were trying to replace him –I mean, obviously we wanted to continue on—it was a tough move for us... we just weren’t sure how to go about it. We didn’t want to just get anybody and have them come in and say “Oh, yeah, he’s the guy”, and then a year later say “Well, I don’t know if he’s the guy.” It’s tough to replace the chemistry and everything we had with Fuzz, and we were just trying to be cautious. Although, John’s awesome... he’s a great guy, he’s an amazing player, and he’s complementing the band really well. We’re getting along with him great on the road here. And we hope that he can be the guy to stay with us for the remainder of our career. We just wanted to move into it slowly, kinda like... I know this is a hokey cliché to say, but after along marriage, and having it end like a bitter divorce, we’re just trying to be really cautious about putting a ring on anyone else’s finger.

AAM: Exactly, man. That struck a chord with me, but this isn’t my interview (laughs). Bass is an integral part of the band, and I know it’s really important to you in the rhythm section. Obviously a drummer has to tie in well with a good bassist - I’m sure you guys have to have that fusion, right?

Wengren: Absolutely... it’s key.

AAM: So, John’s doing that?

Wengren: He is. You know, we were a little nervous during auditions. We weren’t sure... Fuzz was a finger player and John is a pick player, and we were concerned about that affecting the tone of the band and the attack and everything you’re describing with the rhythm section. As far as I’m concerned, I think it’s actually helped increase the tightness of the band. A lot of John’s playing is more even, a little more consistent, and there’s a lot more staccato in a lot of parts, especially when we have some of the syncopation with the rhythm guitar and the kick drums. I think it really fits in well.

It's cool to know how Mike feels about the bassist switch. It wasn't JUST David that couldn't work with him any more.

I think that with Fuzz, Disturbed wouldn't have made TTF, Ind, or Asylum. The band may have very well died. John was the liberator in all of this I say. John makes the band darker.

I kinda have to agree with you there, ShockAndAwe. John adds a lot to the band, especially a darker element that we just didn't get with Fuzz. Don't get me wrong, Fuzz is a hell of a bassist. John just seems to fit where they wanted to go with the music better than Fuzz did.
