All I can say is myself being involved in the music industry,I have had to deal with many music artists that party and get caught up with the drugs....you party like a rock star ..right..but there's a price you pay. I try to explain to them what can happen and tell them no drugs or drinking when they even go on stage and I get a "fuck you" from them. Why does everyone think they're immortal and can party forever and think you can do it forever...without damage....and the sad part...not only you become addicted..every single person close to you goes through watching you destroy yourself....yeah I've seen people overdose...I can name one artist that pulled himself through over and over again...because it's such a hellish drug to stay away from "Heron" and that's Steven Tyler.God I could go on and on because I'm so mad....

I'm probably alone on this forum when I say that any musician that is stupid enough to OD probably deserved to die anyway.

its not always linked to intelligence, it can also be linked to emotional problems and a lack of an infastructure around him to deal with those problems in an appropriate way. When you start drugs, it can change your entire perspective. You put less value on the things that matter most to you in life, and soon your life can revolve around your next high. And lets face it, there aren't many people in the music industry there to help musicians with drug problems because its been allowed to become part of the rockstar lifestyle. Maybe he was stupid, maybe he wasnt. Point is one shouldnt judge anothers substance problems unless they know their history, because for some people its a lot easier to slip into trouble than others.

I very much agree.

The thing that's sad about this is that apparently Gray's wife is expecting a daughter who will never get to know her father. Families are the collateral damage that drug abuse brings.

I read a report online this morning that the autopsy report on Gray showed he died of an accidental morphine overdose. It also showed a significant amount of heart disease.

Okay, future rock stars... abusing drugs is BAD, mmmkay?

You're welcome. I saw the article and thought that those who had posted to this thread might want to know the results of the autopsy. It's sad that Gray's demons got the better of him.
