It's funny that people say that he sings too high...honestly it's his band so he can sing whatever way he wants to sing. I'd love to see someone else try and do what he does musically.

Sigh...

The point was clear. He doesnt atleast try to sing in the same way than he does on the albums. And tadaa, every album version is better.

In my opinion everyone should just buck up.
Honestly the complaints about his voice being to high or bad is starting te get annoying, its his band he sings how he wants to, maybe its not hsi fault, NO ONE KNOWS FOR SURE.
But please stop the complaining and questions and wait and see if we find out why on the DVD and maybe in the new album.

Yeah, seriously, I say we just back off, plus I doubt many of us know what its like to sing at such a magnitute, in a certain way, for 3 hours straight, many succesive days in a row.

i've seen videos of recent tours where his singing was at its best. the show i was at was nothing near that. its nothing to do with him, if probably just had a sore throat or something.

Yeah if it was different than the other times then thats logical guess :) Sorry I thought you meant that his voice was terrible live period.

my dad and I went to the April 22nd 2009 show and when david was singing his voice sounded great he didn't sound like that his voice/throat was in pain at all vocally he hit all the right notes and his voice didn't even crack at all.

thanks. people who say he sucks live don't know what its like singing like that live. he has to conserve his voice to make it last for and hour or two.

Meh, from what I've heard he apparently had surgery on his throat back in 05-06 because he couldn't breathe properly through his nose.

Is it true? I have no fucking clue.

Also, he's getting old.... check out Judas Priest 1986 live on youtube performances, then check out their more recent ones.

But I DO like how he actually puts more melody(right word? Not good with vocab) into his voice. While it sounds cooler and gets me more pumped when he roughens his voice a bit, I really like him live but it shows his true musical talent.

Btw, I'm half tempted to make a topic with all of Judas Priest's 1986 live performances when I get home. Really good and REALLY entertaining. It pains to me say this but, while I believe David has a better voice, Halford might have been the better frontman back in the day. But, I do prefer David :)

I saw disturbed in january of 2009 and towards the end of the maaw4 touring cycle and ill be honest it sound like his voice was becoming tired. Totally makes sense though since they were on tour for well over a year and things happen. Still put on an amazing show!

The May 30th 2009 show in Halifax was amazing, his voice wasn't cracking or too high. They all sounded unbelievable. Best concert I've ever been to.

Yeah, I knew he had surgery; just wasn't sure if that's what it was for or not.

And yeah, I've looked at some of their previous performances :D
