Ok i have been recently doing some research and i realized that if you read the lyrics along with the songs then you get the TRUE meaning of there songs, I mean there songs is not as dark and fucked up like most people think that they are. I mean if you go onto youtube and type in "why the name disturbed?" then he say that the reason they named there band disturbed is beacuase it goes with the whole "Stereo-type" now-a-days about if uyour different or stick out then people pretty much think of you as disturbed or different if you will, and most people would think that there name means that there lyrics are fucked up and dark and shit like that, but they are not. I mean if you really listen to tere lyrics then you realize that he does sing about sick/twisted shit but not in that way, he sings about how fucked up the world is, the people is, what happens when people are greedy, and what are lust for power is doing to our world. so sorry for the long ass post but im just sick of people getting the wrong meaning from the worlds best band of ALL TIME'S lyrics lol.

To be honest with you there's two meanings to every song you hear. The first one is the meaning that the band themselves created for the songs, the second is what any person takes from the song after hearing it. That meaning varies from person to person depending how they see it. David Draiman's style is very cryptic, meaning he doesn't have a direct approach to the lyrics, You almost need to decode each line and see what it really means and what you can take from it.

thats the thing though, you cant go line by line you seriously have to go word by word, because there may be two lines that go with eachother but they may not be right after eachother, ivnoticed that a few times like in "Avarice" for example, he says "satan hides behind a different name" and a few more lines come in and then in the chorus he says "avarice wil kill you and i" so hes saying satan hides behind the name avarice to trick others in getting his own way, but hes not tecnicaly talking about "satan" ether, he could be talking about satan turns the countries of the world greedy making them evil and corrupt which is satans work, and ya i know what you mean, people do get different meanings from each song no matter what the band is

And by saying satan he could just be referring to evil and not actually satan.
