1 Hi there brothers and sisters. on Tue 12 Jan 2010, 00:41

Hey all, I have just joined after receiving the link, and the link alone in a message on youtube :)

I am 27 and I have been following Disturbed since about a year after "The Sickness" was released. Saw them on their Believe tour in the UK (Manchester Academy) and was blessed to be able to see them, and meet them out back on their Indestructible tour when they came back to the UK in October 08'. Cannot wait to see them again.

David Draiman's lyrics have always been an inspiration to me throughout the years I have been listening to anything they put out. I have enjoyed listening with someone with such a similar outlook on life to me. Lyrics are always an integral part to my reasons for listening or not listening to a bands music, so as you can gather, Disturbed are up there, right at the top of my favourite bands list. I was even (not in a crazy way) helped at times during my breakdown by the lyrics, and have always found release when listening to them.

Song's that I love for the before mentioned reasons are:

Fear
Conflict
Rise
Darkness
Just Stop
I'm Alive
Haunted
Perfect Insanity

And last, but NOT least...DIVIDE...lyrics of which I feel the planet should take on board!

Love to you all.

In an age of nothing, at time when we stand at the brink of our own destruction.
Strengthen your belief in yourself, in the future of humanity,
in the things of this world which cannot easily be percieved,
awaken that which lies dormant now within your soul.
Re-ignite the flame of your consciousness,
and measure the strength of your conviction.
Reveal the lie, renounce your hatred.
Seek, find and embrace the truths you are fortunate enough to discover.
Cherish them, use them to anchor you in the sea of chaos that is the world we live in.
When twilight draws near,
when you are pushed to the very limits of your soul,
when it seems that all you have left are the dead remnants
of the fabric of your life...
Believe.
~David Draiman~

The quote is my fave (entire as some single verses are ace too) thing David has ever written, if only he'd made it into a song. It is contained in the inlay to Believe. It's right down the middle, between the lyrics.

I'm a bit nuts on Disturbed though. If I listen to music in a day, Disturbed always dominate about 60% of my play time...mad I know. So that means most days you can hear Disturbed blasting out of my flat in the small rural town I live in on my Amp and Jamo D 365 speakers:

Though mine still have the wheels :D

So you can imagine...it gets noisy in my town, but hey, that's what spreading "The Sickness" is all about.

DWTS - Down with the Sickness...OR DISTURBED WITH THE SICKNESS? Huh? Have I got anyone thinking? ;)

Will do. What time is best? I'm up late most nights you see, and have checked in here a few times, but rarely people online when I am...the nocturnal man that I am.
