I watched the game last night and was disappointed, but I don't have anything real heavy to base my disappointment on. He's still decent at the game, even at his age and I give him props for that, if nothing else.
Well put,, he was really emotional aftyer the game. I think deep down no one wanted the bad situations his retirement caused and evryone wanted to get past it all. Favre wants to keep playin and hes not doin bad in purple xDPost Orgasmic Chill wrote:I thought that at first, but did you see the bond he still has with his Packer family? I don't think they feel he abandoned them even if that is how it's perceived by outsiders. I was surprised to see how close they still were, all of them actually. There was good sportsmanship among all of them.
And I can see how losing a player of his status may leave a 'hole' as you put it, but is that the teams fault or the coaches?

That's why I think Favre wouldn't be given so many opportunities to play after retirement. Sure he still has some skills, but not what he used to have. What he brings to the Vikings is championship and playoff experience, which is what they need. If he didnt win one, i dont think the Vikings would've pursued him like he did.
