Drowning Pool is a four-piece Alternative metal band that was formed in 1996 in Dallas, Texas, United States. They are currently signed to Eleven Seven Music and have released three albums, their most recent being Full Circle, which was released on August 7, 2007. Each of their three albums has featured a different lead singer. After original lead singer Dave Williams died, Jason Jones took over for their second album, Desensitized. When he left the band for personal reasons, he was replaced by former Soil lead singer Ryan McCombs for Full Circle. The band will be playing in Crüe Fest 2: the White Trash Circus in the summer of 2009.
actually they've been threw 2 singers since there first album Sinner..after the original singer(Dave Williams) died they hired Jason Jones from 2003 to 2005 then Jason left the band and they hired SOIL singer Ryan McCombs who left his band in 2004 in mid tour and joined drowning pool lol and is still singing for them.
i personally am a big fan of drowning pool STILL, they dont suck. there sound has changed alot and has become more commercialized but there still kickass IMO.
i agree 100% Dave made the band stay in the borderline hardcore/screaming genre..it wasn't but it was close...but even with that drowning pool had there own sounds..something unique..now they have a guy that kinda sounds like scott stapp(creed vocals)..ya know..deep voice, can throw it around allot, highs lows you get he picture, they also because less anti-social and dark and more about sex appeal and almost Friendly. they lost allot of what they where when Dave died and there going to suffer for it but there still a great band.
